MacNally earned the respect and admiration of the golf community through his expert leadership as president of Tommy Armour Golf. A longtime director of the National Golf Foundation, MacNally served as NGF board chairman from 1985-86. In an effort to take advantage of the rapid growth of the game, MacNally resurrected the PGA of America's National Teaching and Coaching Summit in 1988. Through his leadership and corporate support, the bi-annual summits provide the ideal vehicle of the vital exchange of numerous ideas and information regarding the golf swing. A devoted husband and father, MacNally was awarded Golfweek's Father of the Year in 1992.
