Nan Ryan has worn many hats throughout her golf career - amateur golfer, instructor, author, editor and junior golf leader. Possibly Ryan's greatest career highlight is being the Founder and Executive Director of the Pepsi Little People's Golf Championships in Quincy, IL., the third largest junior golf tournament in the world. Under her direction the tournament has grown from 174 players and 25 volunteers in 1974, to nearly 900 contestants and more than 200 volunteers in 2005. Rather than simply creating a place for juniors to play tournament golf, Ryan took the idea one step further. She created the "Kids Helping Kids" (KHK) program that has donated more than $200,000 to scholarships and local children's charities such as Transitions of Western Illinois and The First Tee of Great River.
