An accomplished amateur player and leader of the game of golf in Illinois, John Gleason has dedicated much of his life to exposing golf to the lives of children who would not normally experience it. As a player, Gleason is a three-time club champion at Oak Park Country Club, as well as club champion at Butler National Golf Club. He has also won the Illinois Senior Amateur and qualified for three U.S. Senior Opens. A former caddie at Park Ridge Country Club, Gleason is a WGA director, a strong supporter of caddie programs and the Evans Scholars Foundation, and is one of the founders of the Maryville Golf Academy, formed to give Maryville youths the opportunity to learn golf and the life lessons it provides.
