Nationally known golf course developer and architect, Dick Nugent has maintained a life-long residence in Illinois. Nugent graduated from the University of Illinois in 1958 with a degree in landscape architecture. He started his professional career with Robert Bruce Harris, and later was the principle architect of Killian and Nugent Inc. In 1983, he formed Dick Nugent Associates. Nugent has been instrumental in the design or revision of over 90 golf courses in 12 states. Many of Nugent's finest projects are in Illinois including Kemper Lakes, Dunne National, Seven Bridges, Heritage Bluffs, Ivanhoe Club, Bull Valley, Royal Fox, Willowhill, and the environmentally award winning Harborside GC. He has been a member of the USGA Green Section committee since 1982.
